Transom Adaptor Installation - Models 12JC & 12JG
Only (Next two steps)
- Slide the large O-ring over the nozzle and bowl
assemblies and into the groove around the pump bowl perimeter, as shown.
- Slide a NEW transom adaptor gasket over
the pump bowl and into place against the transom. A few dabs of
silicone sealer will hold the gasket in approximate position. Now,
bring the transom adaptor up over the nozzle and bowl. Feed the
steering cable and the reverse cable through the correct holes in the
transom adaptor. Start the attaching bolts through the adaptor,
through the gasket, and into the transom. Bring the bolts up just
FINGER TIGHT.
- After all the bolts have been started tighten
each one securely, working in an alternating crossover pattern.
Now lay down a neat and even bead of silicone sealer between the transom
adaptor and the boat transom, also between the pump bowl and the transom
adaptor.
